Happy Krishna Janmashtami to all my friends....<br />
<br />
The marathon of festivals has begun... it is a nice feeling with all refreshing atmosphere and praying mode... <br />
Its such a blessing to be in midst of this wonderful surrounding...so colorful..so traditional...so artistically decorated...places filled with all the flowers..fragrances... fruits...savouries(mmm varieties n yummy)...ethnic costumes....happy people... and what not.... i love it....aaahhhh such a treat to eye and also to stomach......<br />
but alas....so far from home country i can only imagine it now... but again blessed with all innovations... we can atleast feel it virtually through blogs...facebook n blah blah...if not treat for stomach atleast its a treat for eyes.. :)<br />
<br />
Neways we at our home here try to celebrate and bring back the atmosphere if not in large scale but atleast to some extent....so here is the pic of krishna janmashtami.... (flower alankara in my style of tablescape)<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBziTb1YJBD1HXdHrg-L-yNE1wNkssgObvmEfcOMWttyQXG_NO3gFC4i7-rmHkNnqaNxJR2G9tRqN9T6UvCvBGQzxCDHYdLPC5M0I0WCTS3tujlx9o3M6j7hwQv8Tdxms5i9V4A1VVY9nK/s1600/krish.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" mda="true" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhBziTb1YJBD1HXdHrg-L-yNE1wNkssgObvmEfcOMWttyQXG_NO3gFC4i7-rmHkNnqaNxJR2G9tRqN9T6UvCvBGQzxCDHYdLPC5M0I0WCTS3tujlx9o3M6j7hwQv8Tdxms5i9V4A1VVY9nK/s640/krish.jpg" width="489" /></a></div>
here the Krishna is decoupaged...<br />
<br />
I always liked the krishna images from iskon... small tiny ones but so beautiful didnt know what to do out of it for long time... also once in a goodie bag had recieved this tiny saucer and mug which had a weird food festival print on it.... ah never liked it though.... and one fine day "ting" idea struck...hence decoupaged image on it and the thick blue background actually the glass paint i blotted a little so as to cover the edges of cut image and also to get glazed effect.... now its my favourite piece for tablescaping... love it... let me know what do u guys think about it and how did you celebrate the birthday of krishna....<br />
<br />
well one of my friend very thoughtfully posted a link of BhagavadGita verse from a clips of mahabharata the teleseries we grew up with...so for a nostalgia<br />
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lKfgTuJc-0&feature=share">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9lKfgTuJc-0&feature=share</a><br />
<br />
<strong><span style="color: #274e13;">Happy Janmashtami and may god bless all beings...</span></strong><br />
<br />

<span style="font-family: Times, "Times New Roman", serif; font-size: x-large;"><strong>Coffee</strong></span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Coffee....hmmmmmm...<br />
what can i say ... it so nice...its so refreshing...its so energetic...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
The aroma of freshly brewed <span style="color: black;">filter</span> coffee draws us up from the bed even on sunday <br />
early mornings... wow! it is so tasty & what a great feeling....</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
There is a saying: </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: #990000;">A cup of coffee shared with friend (or husband) is like happiness tasted &</span><br />
<span style="color: #990000;"> time well spent.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: black;">mmmm very true....provided my hubby makes a nice filter coffee for me ;)</span></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well i should admit that my husband makes one of the best coffees . He is so perfect & passionate about it, that he says shayari (well in his broken hindi but very cute though): </div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #990000;"> woh subha bhi koi subha hai kya jiske pehle raat na ho....</span></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<span style="color: #990000;"> woh subha bhi koi subha hai kya jiske pehle raat na ho, woh breakfast bhi kya </span><br />
<span style="color: #990000;"> jiske bhaad (after) ek glass coffee na ho.......</span><br />
(wah wah! wah wah!...me & my son had great fun)</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Well! people are so much crazy about coffee...</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
One of our dear friends who is such a passionate coffee drinkers used to drive miles together to have a nice filter coffee.... wow what do you gift such a person on their farewell party, who were moving out of the country.....??? a coffee mug... a coffee maker... packs of coffee beans or a nice coffee filter to brew coffee... mmmmmmm???? well i chose the gift my way.....</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">
The process is very easy... </div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
1. sketch the desired image on a drawing paper</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
2. take any instant coffee but preferably BRU instant coffee powder</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
3. mix different amount of water with coffee powder to make different shades of paint </div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
4. using this mixture paint with brush</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. after it dries jazz it up with glitter pen</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: left;">
5. finally prevent the insect attack from spraying varnish recommended for water colors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="border-bottom: medium none; border-left: medium none; border-right: medium none; border-top: medium none; clear: both; text-align: center;">

<span style="font-size: large;">Block Printed fabric</span><br />
<br />
I love to do arty things and get inspired to do DIY stuff all the time but so lazy that i need lots of energy to start some project..even if i start doing something most of the time with some reason i stop in the middle ...hence i have lots and lots of unfinished projects...but thanks to my hubby... he pushes me long way to start up & finish few arty stuff... So yesterday he gave me deadline of 1 week to make ready a fabric which he can use it on top of grass mat (Dharbe chaape)...it is very auspicious and right way to be seated while performing prayers he says.... but unfortunately its so pricky uncomfortable.... <br />
So this gave me oppurtunity to make use of my arty hands and at same time really wanted to finish project very soon as my son is having holidays & he always wants to try his hand & finaly mess the project...so i opted for Block print... which is really easy & quick....<br />
<br />
I really thank my Guru of arts....my sister <a href="http://facebook.com/Shilpamspillai" target="_blank">Shilpa</a>... for the wonderful kalamkari wooden block...very sweet of her she really takes pain to search...get the things done...give ideas...teach me... She is my encyclopedia of arts...love you akka...<br />
<br />
<br />
So now here is the finished block printed fabric.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
Well the process is very simple,....just used few wooden blocks and applied fabric paint to it with brush and stamp the block on fabric in desired pattern... after an hour of drying it ready to use (to fix color on fabric...iron it on reverse side ) <br />
few pictures of project in progress...<br />

<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
This wonderful thing is none other than hand gestures or MUDRAS of yoga (connecting different parts of body in particular manner). Which i have been using right from my childhood days...in form of classical dancing. Wow... i never realised that mudras which is used as expression in Bharatnatyam is so beneficial for healthy and well being...well its a eye opener for me as all this dance and yoga everything is interconnected... hope to make this as practise atleast now in form of yoga....</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwGXjl7oHzedBnGzqcA8BGC3jmoELFv0QOoVit0lMPTysEgFIaWAT7EtWgrx5uV-3PKNOdohmqGSRMwOegBBEiab0K8fcbfFIgOzMtVoj4I8k1t_hYWmjl1gtjVXDnKkOrjwhhm-HhqkA9/s1600/5+elements.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" fba="true" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiwGXjl7oHzedBnGzqcA8BGC3jmoELFv0QOoVit0lMPTysEgFIaWAT7EtWgrx5uV-3PKNOdohmqGSRMwOegBBEiab0K8fcbfFIgOzMtVoj4I8k1t_hYWmjl1gtjVXDnKkOrjwhhm-HhqkA9/s320/5+elements.jpg" width="265" /></a></div>
Now coming to the point: we believe that physical body is made of 5 elements: Air, Water, Earth, Fire and Space or Aakash. Imbalance of these disturbs the immunity and causes disease. So when Mudras are practised it starts a electromagnetic current within body and balances constituting elements and restores health. </div>
